Cold Laser Therapy in Canton and Patient Satisfaction for Treatments

People who have developed back pain are presented with a multitude of options for treatments. Unfortunately, not all of them really help, or at least don’t have the same level of effectiveness. Because of this, the Health Ratings Center of Consumer Reports, an independent non-profit organization that provides products and services comparison for consumers, surveyed over 14,000 of its subscribers. These respondents are people who have experienced lower back pain within a year but had never gone through back surgery.

More about Lower Back Pain

Lower back pain compromises the quality of daily life. Patients can’t do heavy activities and intense levels of pain disrupt concentration. These greatly affect performance at work along with the participation in other activities. This is why it’s important that the treatment is effective.

The lower back is the area starting from below the ribcage, also known as the lumbar region. Pain felt in this area may be caused by conditions that affect the spine, discs in between vertebrae, muscles in the area, the nerves and the spinal cord, ligaments surrounding the discs and spine, internal organs located in the abdomen and pelvis, and the skin that covers the lumbar region.

Who is most helpful?

The result of the survey mentioned above showed that more than half of the respondents are highly satisfied by the back pain treatments and advice they got from a chiropractor. At 59 percent, this takes the top spot in satisfaction ratings, followed by physical therapist, acupuncturist, specialist physician, and primary care doctor.

About Laser Therapy

Chiropractors are continuing to develop different methods for effective treatment. One example is cold laser therapy in Canton, like that available from Belden Village Chiropractic and Wellness Center. This is actually an incorporation of physical therapeutics that presents benefits for patients of lumbar region pain.

Cold laser therapy in Massillon or Canton is the same as what is used by professional and college sports teams across the nation, now made available for the general population. What makes it different from other physical modalities is that it is safe to use even for patients with pacemakers, metal implants, or knee replacements. It has also been shown to improve flexibility, relieve pain, improve blood flow, and reduce swelling, too.
